God’s Promise of Protection Is Accepted by Faith

Evil seems to be prevalent and terror is pressing on us as the wind blows from one end to other. Pain and suffering, death and despair has become a norm. In such times can believers be rest assured that the is Divine Protection?

God’s Promise of Protection Is Accepted by Faith
We see carjackings and robberies on the television, and read about invasions and national threats in the newspaper. It can be intimidating at best, completely terrifying at worst. But we have no reason to fear when we read in the Bible about God’s promise of divine protection.

Violence is nothing new, and it’s actually been around since the beginning of time. If it seems like it’s intensifying, that’s not just our imagination. Jesus Himself predicted worldwide troubles two thousand years ago, but He gave us a reassurance with that warning.

“When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places” (Matthew 24:6, 7, MSG). News reports confirm this every day.
Jesus is On your Side
Now for the good tidings. Studying the Scriptures, we read in multiples places that God will keep those who trust in Him safe from harm. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling” (Psalm 91:5-7, 10). David wrote these and many other psalms because of his great trust in God to keep him safe, despite repeated attempts by jealous King Saul to kill him.

When we believe what’s written in the Bible instead of what we see and hear, we begin to feel a great peace settling around us. God’s Word is the wisdom and ultimate truth that doesn’t change, and listening to these words brings stability and calm.

“But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:33, NKJV). Taking these promises to heart will eventually have outward manifestations. Others will look upon us and wonder how we can remain so rock steady in the midst of the turmoil.

Accepting this by faith activates a supernatural level of protection for not just us, but for our family and loved ones as well. For some, crime is so frightening that simply leaving the house is a major step for them.

But God, Who created the earth, the heavens, and everything in them, ensures the safety of those who believe. “‘No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,’ declares the Lord”(Isaiah 54:17, NIV).

Whether the evil we see is halfway across the world, in our neighborhood, or lurking just outside our front door, we can be assured that G
od is bigger, stronger, and more powerful.
You Are Safe In Him
When it seems like we’re like young David fighting against the mighty Philistine giant, we can remember how it ultimately ended with him not just slaying Goliath, but beheading him. Our faith in God’s promises brings us a victory just as major.
